Historic Expansion: League1 BC and Canadian Premier League Join the Tournament

14 Clubs to Compete for National Title

The 2023 Canadian Championship is poised to make history with the expansion of the tournament to include 14 clubs for the first time ever. Beginning in 2023, the league winner of League1 British Columbia (League1 BC) will join the competition, marking the debut of a non-MLS club. The tournament will also welcome the addition of new Canadian Premier League (CPL) participants.

The final match of the 2023 Canadian Championship, scheduled for June 7, 2023, will determine the champion and Canada's representative in the upcoming CONCACAF Champions League.
